As a large part of the Internet traffic still takes place via unencrypted HTTP protocol at the time of the project creation, this exposes the user to eavesdropping or injecting advertisements or tracking cookies. In order to prevent this, it is necessary to use HTTPS protocol, which uses TLS certificates signed by the certification authority to encrypt the transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The project provides users with free X.509 Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption certificates as part of an automated process designed to eliminate the drawbacks of manually creating, validating, signing and installing certificates for secure websites.<\/p><cite>wikipedia.org<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The disadvantages that the project tries to solve are the costs and difficulties related to obtaining and implementing the certificate. <strong>Let&#8217;s Encrypt<\/strong> offers free certificates and a set of tools for managing them and automatic integration with HTTP servers. The project is an initiative of the Internet Security Research Group, supported by companies and organizations such as Akamai, CISCO, Mozilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n    <div\n        id=\"block-cta-block_601ebefaa1466\"\n        class=\"block-cta block-cta-dark\">\n        <h2 class=\"block-cta-heading heading-large with-hashtag-centered\">\n            SSL for all hosting accounts        <\/h2>\n\n    <div class=\"block-cta-content block-cta-content-no-figure\">\n        <p class=\"block-cta-content-text\">\n            Every hosting package, VPS and dedicated server, comes with a Let&#8217;s Encrypt certificate.        <\/p>\n\n        <div class=\"block-cta-content-buttons\">\n            \n                                    <a\n                class=\"btn btn-primary-with-arrow\"\n                href=\"https:\/\/thecamels.org\/en\/hosting\/\"\n                >\n                Hosting with free SSL certificate            <\/a>\n        <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n    \n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>All our <a href=\"https:\/\/thecamels.org\/en\/hosting\/\"><span>hosting accounts<\/span><\/a> have HTTPS support and Let&#8217;s Encrypt certificates enabled. By default, <strong>certificates are issued for 3 months and automatically extended for another period<\/strong>. All this happens in the background without your participation. We ensure continuity of Let&#8217;s Encrypt certificates without any additional charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These certificates are a very good solution for private individuals, starting bloggers or small online shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We give people the digital certificates they need in order to enable HTTPS (SSL\/TLS) for websites, for free, in the most user-friendly way we can. We do this because we want to create a more secure and privacy-respecting Web.<\/p><cite>letsencrypt.org<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supported browsers<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mozilla Firefox &gt;= v2.0<\/li><li>Google Chrome<\/li><li>Internet Explorer on Windows XP SP3 or later<\/li><li>Microsoft Edge<\/li><li>Android OS &gt;= v2.3.6<\/li><li>Safari &gt;= v4.0 on macOS<\/li><li>Safari on iOS &gt;= v3.1<\/li><li>Debian Linux &gt;= v6<\/li><li>Ubuntu Linux &gt;= v12.04<\/li><li>NSS Library &gt;= v3.11.9<\/li><li>Amazon FireOS (Silk Browser)<\/li><li>Cyanogen &gt; v10<\/li><li>Jolla Sailfish OS &gt; v1.1.2.16<\/li><li>Kindle &gt; v3.4.1<\/li><li>Java 7 &gt;= 7u111<\/li><li>Java 8 &gt;= 8u101<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Limits and restrictions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The certificate renewal process is performed every 12 hours and certificates which expire within 90 days are extended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Certificates per Registered Domain<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 you can generate certificates for up to 20 domains within 7 days.<\/li><li><strong>Names per Certificate<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 one certificate for a given domain can contain up to <strong>100 subdomains<\/strong> in itself.<\/li><li><strong>Duplicate Certificate<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 You can request up to 5 identical certificates per week. Identical certificates are understood here as: having the same set of hostnames (excluding the letter size and order of hostnames). Certificate renewal falls into the duplication assumptions, but omits the above limitations.<\/li><li><strong>Failed Validation<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 it allows for 5 erroneous validations per account per hour.<\/li><li><strong>Overall Requests<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Let&#8217;s encrypt limits &#8220;new-reg&#8221;, &#8220;new-authz&#8221; and &#8220;new-cert&#8221; requests generally to 20 queries per second. In addition, queries to the &#8220;\/directory&#8221; and &#8220;\/acme&#8221; directories and their subdirectories are limited to 40 queries per second.<\/li><li><strong>Accounts per IP Address<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 within 3 hours Let&#8217;s encrypt allows you to create up to 500 accounts associated with a single IP address.<\/li><li><strong>Pending Authorizations<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 you can have up to 300 pending authorizations for certificates in your account.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, remember to do so:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>the domain subject to certification was fully resolvable by DNS servers and directed to a specific IP address<\/li><li>access to the root directory of the domain is not blocked, or that access to &#8220;\/.well-known\/&#8221; is allowed.<\/li><li>rules for mod-rewrite did not interfere with the path http:\/\/<em>\/.well-known\/<\/em> and\/or https:\/\/<em>\/.well-known\/<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>See the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/letsencrypt.org\/docs\/rate-limits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><span>Let&#8217;s Encrypt documentation<\/span><\/a> pages for more information about restrictions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The main goal of the project is to provide easy to use SSL \/ TLS certificates.
